Promoting real information and interaction across the technological landscape
Supporting truth and transparency.
The growth of generative AI and the increasing presence of deepfake content across the internet has led to the spread of misinformation, and has decreased the validity of what users interact with on a daily basis.
People are often left wondering if what they’ve just seen on their devices is the truth, or something merely AI or bot-generated. To solve this problem, Lens utilizes machine learning technology to “screen” the internet, working as either a mobile app or a browser extension in order to alert users of the source of the media they’re interacting with.
An increasingly unreliable internet
As AI-generated content becomes easier to produce and harder to detect, trust online is breaking down. People are left unsure whether what they’re reading reflects a real human voice or a fake one. Misinformation spreads rapidly, and everyday users often don’t take the time to reference fact or AI checkers.
Awareness and communication
Lens uses AI to help people recognize when online content is likely machine-generated. By making detection transparent and accessible, we turn uncertainty into understanding rather than fear. An immediate alert is given to the user through an integrated mobile app/extension when the algorithm predicts that the post being looked at is of deepfake origin.
For the consumer and creator
Consumers gain clarity and confidence when navigating digital spaces, while creators benefit from a system that protects authentic human expression. Together, this supports a healthier, more trustworthy online ecosystem. With the help of using Lens’ API, app developers can ensure the content presented on their platform is verified.
